Celebrating International Women's Day

Aurélie Blaise

Maritime Operations Coordinator

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we are highlighting a few of the women who are making an impact at Cray Valley. With this series, we hope to connect and inspire women across the chemical industry as they build meaningful careers.

Meet Aurélie Blaise, our Maritime Operations Coordinator! Aurélie ensures that our products travel safely and efficiently overseas. Her role is varied – she manages complex maritime shipments and ensures compliance with transport and customs regulations. She was drawn to the fast-paced environment of logistics. “Every shipment is different, with its own constraints and challenges,” she said. “I like having to anticipate issues, find solutions quickly and work with people from different countries.”

Although logistics is a traditionally male-dominated field, Aurélie has found strength in her years of experience. “Sometimes you have to assert your expertise a bit more,” she explains, “but it’s also an opportunity to challenge stereotypes.”

For Aurélie, the source of her confidence comes from her deep technical knowledge, preparation and real-world experience. Over time, dealing with challenging logistics problems has strengthened her ability to make clear decisions and communicate effectively. Aurélie advises young women entering similar fields to believe in themselves and their abilities.

“Don’t underestimate your value,” she said. “Ask questions, stay curious, and don’t hesitate to speak up.”

For Aurélie, International Women’s Day is about recognizing women’s contributions, promoting equality and encouraging women to pursue their ambitions – even in male-dominated fields.
