Olivier Defrain is the EU Regulatory & Sustainability Manager at Cray Valley. Over the past 20 years, he has worked in various technical roles within R&D departments and factories, where he developed deep expertise in chemistry, formulation and project management. Two years ago, he transitioned into a cross-functional role where he now manages sustainability projects and regulatory issues.
Olivier first worked with Cray Valley on an R&D development project and this experience left a lasting impression on him. Olivier finds his current work on regulatory and sustainability initiatives particularly rewarding, as it requires agility and collaboration. He especially enjoys developing new sustainability concepts for Cray Valley plants and working on projects that promote energy efficiency for manufacturing processes. His key strengths, such as rigor and perseverance, have been instrumental in his success.
In addition, he values Cray Valley’s company culture of innovation and contributes by constantly acquiring new regulatory and sustainability knowledge and sharing this information with his colleagues.
Outside of work, Olivier has a passion for sports and the study of wines, valuing continuous learning in his professional and personal life.
